Julieta Venegas

While I have only light Spanish skills, Julieta Venegas's music improves them and motivates me in every way, her music is perfect for a good time--her music is beautiful and always enjoyable. It's the type you want on during a road trip or a party outside in the summer. It's good, soothing folk-pop music.

The recent movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had a few great songs in this vein--they had 'Mondo Bongo' by Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros and 'Bogota' on the John Powell soundtrack, and 'Assassin's Tango', which were all fun.

I would try 'Primer Día', or 'Me Voy' and absolutely a fun one, 'Te Voy a Mostrar'. Here's her best cd here, Limón y Sal. Her 'Bien o Mal' is great too.

Also listen to her 'Eres Para Mi' and 'Sin documentos'.
